Not all arrhythmias cause symptoms. Some may be only discovered during a routine medical check-up.
Arrhythmias may have classic symptoms such as a sensation of racing or thumping in the chest, but often the symptoms may seem unrelated.
Bradycardia
Arrhythmias that have a slow heart rate may cause:
- Shortness of breath
- Weakness
- Fatigue
- Lightheadedness or dizziness
- Fainting spells
- Falls
- Chest discomfort
Tachycardia
Arrhythmias that have a fast heart rate may cause:
- A fluttering feeling in your chest
- Shortness of breath
- Lightheadedness or dizziness
- Chest discomfort
